A person who sells or lets on hire a crossbow or part of a crossbow to a person under the age of 18 is guilty of an offence unless they believe them to be 18 years of age or older and has reasonable grounds for that belief.

A person under the age of 18 who has with them a crossbow which is capable of discharging a missile, OR parts of a crossbow which together (and without any other parts) can be assembled to for a crossbow capable of discharging a missile is guilty of an offence, unless they are under the supervision of a person who is 21 years of age or older.
