Theft Act 1968 s1

A person is guilty of theft if they dishonestly appropriate property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it; ‘thief’ and ‘steal’ shall be construed accordingly.

Abstracting Electricity

A person who dishonestly uses without due authority, or dishonestly causes to be wasted or diverted, any electricity commits an offence.

Going Equipped

Theft Act 1968 s25

A person shall be guilty of an offence if, when not at their place of abode, they have with them any article for use in the course of or in connection with any burglary or theft.

Making off Without Payment

Theft Act 1978 s3

Subject to subsection (3) below a person who, knowing that payment on the spot for any goods supplied or service done is required or expected from them, dishonestly makes off without having paid as required or expected and with intent to avoid payment of the amount due shall be guilty of an offence.

Subsection (1) above shall not apply where the supply of the goods or the doing of the service is contrary to law, or where the service done is such that payment is not legally enforceable.
